Gas Station Visit
Today I drove my Cadillac to the gas station for the first time. Yes, I had to face the reality that my lovely '64 Cadillac isn't the greatest on gas. Kent, the previous owner, stated it can get around 15-20 miles per gallon if you drive steady around 55 mph on a highway. The gas tank holds approximately 30 gallons of gas. Wow! That is a lot! Here at the Conoco in Buena Vista, Colorado, I must shamefully admit I only put $5 worth of gas in. With the medium grade (87 octane) at $4.09, I think it came out to about 1.2 gallons of gas. That will be enough for the next few months. (I really do not drive this vehicle very much.) By the way, the gas tank nozzle is behind the license plate in the back. It was somewhat tricky getting the gas pump wedged where it needed to go before pumping.
One photo of the fuel gauge on the dashboard. The gauge was just right on the "E" line when I was driving. I think when the car shuts off the gauge moves to the far left. -Steve (July 29, 2008) |
